Our daughter, Erin, always dreamed of getting married on the front lawn of our Texas home. When she fell in love with Dave and got married in 2008 we made that dream come true. Of course she had to have a special arbor for vows to be recited under, so Bob carefully crafted a rustic wooden arbor wrapped lovingly in grapevines and then laced with flowers. When it came time to move to Westcliffe Kathy could not bear to leave the arbor behind - so of course Bob disassembled it and it was brought to Colorado. In 2011 when Bob established the Inn gardens he created an elevated garden for the arbor - with the breathtaking Sangre de Cristo mountains as the backdrop - creating a perfect place for a small, intimate destination wedding.
We can accommodate 100 guests in the gardens, provide the Historic Inn for special photo shoots for the bridal party and coordinate with local restaurants or put up a tent for the reception. Since no wedding is the same, please call Kathy at 719.783.3585 to discuss more possibilities for your special day.
So You Want To Be An Innkeeper
So many times in our first two years of operating Over the Brim Inn we have guests get a special look in their eye and say "I've always dreamed of running an Inn." What Bob and I discovered is there were many things through our research we anticipated - but there is nothing like the real experience to learn what it is all about! Thus emerged the idea of providing a reality experience "So You Want To Be An Innkeeper."
Come join us the weekend before we formally open the inn. You'll arrive the afternoon of Thursday, April 26 and depart Sunday evening April 29. What happens in between is a journey of serving an inn full of guests - scripted to provide you real life scenarios. You will respond in real time and then fade back to debrief on the experience. You will leave with a handbook on starting and operating a B&B. Sound like fun? Call Kathy for more details at 719.783.3585.
